Airworthiness & safety

Safe skies today and tomorrow

Every day, millions of people trust the European aeronautics industry to fly them safely and reliably to their destinations. As manufacturers, we take this trust very seriously, and we are committed to making the safest means of transport even safer.

ASD, the voice of the European aeronautics industry, plays a key role in ensuring and enhancing the safety and airworthiness of the industry. ASD has a number of Working Groups that focus on different aspects of safety and airworthiness, such as certification, maintenance, operations, security, and environmental protection.

These Working Groups work closely with the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), the European Organisation for the Safety of Air Navigation (EUROCONTROL), and other EU institutions, such as the Directorate-General for Mobility and Transport (DG MOVE). ASD also represents the European aeronautics industry in the International Coordinating Council of Aerospace Industries Associations (ICCAIA) and the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO), where it contributes to the development and harmonisation of global standards and regulations for aviation safety.

Millions of people fly every day – based on a feeling of trust in our products and services. As manufacturers, we are aware of this huge responsibility, and strive towards making the safest means of transport even safer.
