Airworthiness Committee
The ASD Airworthiness Committee (AWC) promotes a unified industry perspective on airworthiness and aviation safety for both civil and defence aerospace. It supports high safety standards worldwide by advocating on safety requirements and compliance methods, including in new fields like urban air mobility. The Airworthiness Committee coordinates ASD’s engagement with the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), the European Defence Agency (EDA), and other aviation authorities, participating in advisory bodies and working groups, providing input on regulatory consultations, and responding to safety events.
It also collaborates with other industry groups to build consensus on safety issues and represents ASD in the International Coordinating Council of Aerospace Industries Associations (ICCAIA) Airworthiness Committee, working with the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) and international aviation authorities on safety initiatives.
