Zero-emission technologies, GNSS, and SAF on agenda at EASA stakeholders meeting
This week’s European Union Aviation Safety Agency Stakeholders Advisory Body (SAB) meeting brought experts together for discussions on several crucial aviation topics. These included the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS), Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) provision and reporting, zero-emission technologies, and the implementation of Part-IS regulations.
The meeting also looked at plans to expand the SAB representation to encompass ground handling operators and drones operators.
The EASA SAB serves as one of the two advisory bodies to EASA to facilitate dialogue between EASA and industry stakeholders – the other being the Member States Advisory Body. Comprising of a number of communities and activity groups, the SAB enables representatives from across the aviation sector to contribute to strategic priorities and regulatory developments and provide feedback on the implementation of regulations and related policies.
Representatives from associations spanning commercial operators, aviation personnel, manufacturers, general and non-commercial operators, air traffic management/air navigation services (ATM/ANS), airports, training industries, air sports, maintenance, and aerospace medicine form part of the SAB.
ASD is proud to represent the manufacturing sector on the SAB plenary as well as providing the Executive Secretariat.
As the aviation industry navigates towards a sustainable and innovative future, the SAB is an important part of collaborative dialogue that shapes the policies and practices driving European aviation forward.
