PGZ and Avio Aero join ASD as new members
After approval by the ASD Board, the Aerospace, Security and Defence Industries Association of Europe (ASD) welcomes two new members:
- Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa (PGZ) is the largest defence enterprise in Poland, a holding company gathering together several dozen production plants, service facilities and research centres crucial for the Polish defence industry. As a provider of innovative systems and solutions, PGZ is a close partner of the Polish Armed Forces and allied formations.
- Avio Aero, a GE Aerospace company, headquartered in Italy and operating in the design, manufacture and maintenance of components and propulsion systems for civil and military aviation.
The new memberships took effect on 30 November 2023. With this, ASD now has 25 direct member companies and 23 associations from 19 European countries.
Jan Pie, ASD Secretary General said:
"I'm pleased to welcome the two new members to the ASD family, bringing valuable experience and expertise spanning various domains. Their contributions will further enhance ASD's impact and relevance as the single voice for the European Aerospace, Security, and Defence Industries in Brussels and beyond."
Our diverse new members enrich our community, showcasing ASD as a truly European association. ASD represents a broad spectrum of companies that contribute to Europe's green and digital transition and that are a key factor for Europe's sovereignty and security.
Jakub Roszkowski, member of the management board of PGZ S.A., commented:
“The war in Ukraine has caused a change in the European Union’s approach to cooperation in the field of security and defence. By joining ASD, we not only confirm the increasingly stronger position of the Polish defence industry on the European continent, but above all, we open up new opportunities for dialogue with other defence entities from across Europe, and a closer exchange with European institutions.”
Riccardo Procacci, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Avio Aero, stated:
“Collaboration among Aerospace and Defence companies in Europe is key to address all the current and future challenges of this sector. ASD represents - for all its members - a unique platform to have a common position before the European institutions and stakeholders, enabling not only the promotion of this crucial industry but also its competitive and constant development.”
