Securing society
Safeguarding Europe’s vital lifelines
Security is the precondition for democracy, prosperity and sustainability. But security is not a given. It is constantly challenged also by non-military threats that can pose great risks to the lives, well-being and fundamental rights of Europeans. These threats come from state- and non-state actors who often use highly sophisticated means to achieve their malicious ends. Increasing geopolitical tensions and Russia’s hybrid warfare have put European security under additional pressure.
These security threats cannot be effectively tackled without the help of state-of-the-art technologies. Technology alone cannot provide security, but in today’s world, it is an essential enabler for a secure Europe.
Security industries provide our security forces with the technological solutions they need to protect us. Therefore, to remain a place of freedom from fear and harm, Europe needs to have an efficient security industry.
